#83 Maybe another time perhaps

Ach, this code isn't being nice to me.

I put myself down easier than some discarded dog. Ruff, ruff, yeah, great.

That which confounds must have once confounded the confounder, or, we all start at square 1.

I stuck my hands together with bits of sticktape today. It was the most worthwhile thing I've done in a long time. Procrastination is surely an art form by now.

#41 Time marching onwards

It's been 7 months since I checked GE. I dusted off the old posts and left a short update.

Thusfar I am the sum total of no achievement whatsoever of worth to mankind. Arrested development is mine face in the dictionary. Writing helps, albeit in an impractical way. Where it will end is hard to know.

Happy April Fools day. Conficker.c passed without incident. Within my faculties, day pass, and I estimate less and less ability. I simply do, be, and am. A cursor may blink a thousand times, but patience waits for godot. There is importance here - mark the passing of time in any way possible lest it seem like so much sand in a desert.

#18 Is freedom a stat or skill?

http://www.owenfitzpatrick.com/meetowen/philosophy/philosophy.php#SlideFrame_1

This guy says "Personal Freedom is your own ability to take control over the way you think and feel and decide to become happier and more successful."

Surely it can't be that easy?

Mind over matter? What about all those external stimuli?

That financial crisis for instance. A whole bunch of people are pretty frazzled after the house of representitives shot down the savey deal. It's not quite the same as congress, but I'm a little fuzzy on that.

Still, the suggestion is that happiness and freedom are linked - not a bad idea. They might even be the same thing.

So maybe personal freedom as an ability relies on mental spam filters. If all the outside stuff bums you out, the only way you can get happy again is thinking your way there. Almost a bit like other skills and stats e.g. long distance running, stamina, patience, origami or dancing.
